Community Dialogue in Ntinkalu
26.July.2018 we held a successful community dialogue with fishing community at Ntinkula in Mayuge district. Domestic violence and child abuse are prevalent in Uganda’s fishing communities along the lake mainly as result of alcoholism, ethnic diversity, poverty and ignorance about the law and human rights. The community leaders appreciated the efforts of NVP in raising awareness and stirring a conversation on violence, rights of children and gender equality.
